Power For AI Factories And Data Centers
AI compute is growing faster than the grid can serve it. Speed to power is the constraint, and it is the one BPi solves. BPi constructs the AI factory as general contractor: site works, structure, envelope, power and switchgear self-performed, with liquid-cooled halls, cooling and GPU compute delivered in partnership with specialist manufacturers, one accountable EPC from the source to the rack.

We Construct The Data Center
Not only the power behind it. BPi carries the licensing and the self-performed trades to take responsibility for the build itself, and brings in specialist partners for the parts of an AI factory that no single contractor should pretend to own.
Site And Structure
Grading, foundations, structure and building envelope, with roofing through OneRoof Solution. Permits, inspections and closeout under one contract.
Power And Electrical
Generation, storage, medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, protection and the utility interconnection: the part of the build that sets the schedule.
Halls, Cooling And Compute
Liquid-cooled data halls, rack-ready fit-out, cooling plant and GPU clusters delivered with specialist manufacturers and integrators, coordinated and warranted through BPi.
One Contractor For The AI Factory, Source To Rack
BPi develops and delivers the whole facility: power and envelope self-performed, halls, cooling and compute with specialist partners under one EPC contract. You bring the site and the load; you operate the compute. No coordination gap between the people who power it, the people who build it and the people who run it.

Grid Queues Are The Bottleneck. We Work Around Them
On-site generation and storage let a site energise while the utility queue runs in parallel, and BPi owns the interconnection itself rather than leaving the project to wait.
Speed To Power
Firm power on site in as little as six months from notice to proceed. Go live on your schedule, not the utility's. On-site power carries the load while the interconnection application works through the queue.
Reliability
Resilience and redundancy built in, with power systems designed to support Uptime Institute Tier III requirements or higher.
Scale
Nationwide delivery, licensed in every state we build in, from a single site to a portfolio.
Sustainability
Solar, storage and hydrogen-ready mtu generation built into the strategy, not bolted on later.
How A Project Runs
One team from the first site walk to the monthly performance report. The same sequence on every site, adjusted to the contract.
- 1
Assess
Candidate sites, utility service, gas access, load profile, land and roof.
- 2
Design
Integrated solution and a preliminary business case you can take to a board.
- 3
Permit
Entitlements, AHJ permits, utility applications and interconnection.
- 4
Build
Power, distribution and supporting infrastructure under one EPC contract.
- 5
Operate
Monitoring, exception management, maintenance and owner reporting.
- 6
Expand
Repeat the validated design across the portfolio.
You See The Project The Way We Run It
Every BPi project runs on Setpoint, a project-delivery platform built for EPC firms. Your team gets a client portal into the same system our engineers and superintendents work in, not a status email once a fortnight.
Deliverables
Every drawing, submittal, permit and commissioning record tracked to a named owner and a date, visible to you as it moves.
Schedule
One integrated schedule from site assessment to permission to operate. Slips show up as forecasts, not surprises.
Earned Value
Cost and progress measured against the baseline every week, so a change in the number is a decision, not a discovery at closeout.
Reports That Write Themselves
AI-generated progress and risk reports from live project data, on a cadence you set, in a form your board can read.
Licensed, Registered, Insured
The qualifications a procurement team asks for first. Certificates and evidence available on request.
A General Engineering, C-10 Electrical, C-39 Roofing: the classifications that allow BPi to engineer and construct powerplants.
Public-works registered, certified payroll produced through Miter.
2026 experience modification rate. Below 1.0 means a safety record better than the industry average, and discounted insurance premiums.
General liability, umbrella and bonding capacity. Certificates on request.
One Contractor, Nationwide
Bright Power, Inc., trading as BPi, has delivered energy infrastructure since 2008. Data center and AI factory power is delivered across all 50 states, under one BPi contract and one point of accountability, wherever the site is.
Microgrid Case Study
The same architecture an AI factory needs, already built and running: on-site generation, storage and demand management delivered as one system under a single contract.
Largest Commercial Microgrid In PG&E's Service Territory At Completion
Solar generation, battery energy storage and demand management engineered, procured and built as one integrated system, with BPi as both EPC and general contractor. The site runs through utility events and shapes its own load rather than paying for the peaks.
- Solar generation sized against measured site load, not nameplate assumptions
- Battery energy storage for peak shaving and ride-through during utility events
- Demand management and controls integrating generation, storage and load
- Interconnection carried by BPi through permission to operate
- Monitoring and owner reporting after handover
The economics of the project made as much sense as the environmental case.

Straight answers on power, timelines and scope. If yours is not here, bring it to a power strategy session.
How fast can we have firm power on site?
In as little as six months from notice to proceed, depending on site conditions, equipment lead times and permitting. On-site generation and storage carry the load while the utility interconnection application runs in parallel, so the compute deployment date is set by your build rather than by the utility queue.
What is behind-the-meter power, and why does it matter for AI?
Behind-the-meter means generation and storage sited on your property, on your side of the utility meter. It matters because interconnection queues now run years in many markets while an AI facility can be built in months. Behind-the-meter power closes that gap, and in an islanded configuration a site can run independently of the grid entirely.
How much power does an AI data center actually need?
Far more per square foot than a traditional facility. Liquid-cooled AI racks can draw several hundred kilowatts each, where a conventional rack draws five to ten. Sizing has to be done against peak draw and ramp behaviour rather than average load, because AI training workloads swing hard and fast. That load profile is what drives the generation, storage and switchgear design.
What does BPi self-perform, and what comes through partners?
BPi self-performs the power side: solar generation, battery energy storage, switchgear, controls, protection and the utility interconnection, plus roofing and building envelope. Liquid-cooled halls, cooling plant and GPU clusters are delivered with specialist manufacturers and integrators, coordinated and warranted through BPi under the same contract.
Can BPi work outside California?
Yes. Delivery is nationwide across all 50 states, licensed in every state we build in, under one BPi contract and one point of accountability.
What fuels and generation types are available?
Solar, battery energy storage, and on-site generation on natural gas and diesel platforms, with hydrogen-ready configurations where the site case supports them. Most projects end up hybrid: renewables and storage for cost and emissions, firm generation for continuity, and controls tying the two together.
How is redundancy handled?
Redundancy is designed to the uptime commitment you carry, including N+1 configurations, with power systems designed to support Uptime Institute Tier III requirements or higher. Firming, peak shaving and backup generation are sized to a facility that cannot go dark.
What happens on a power strategy session?
A working call with our engineers, not a sales pitch. We go through your project in detail: the site and its utility position, the load profile and ramp behaviour, your timeline and the date compute has to be live, and what the grid can realistically deliver by then. From that we talk through the options on the table, generation mix, storage, islanded or behind-the-meter, and what each one means for your schedule and your budget. You leave with a clear view of what the site can support and what it would take to get there. Bring your constraints, the harder the better.
Tell Us About Your Site, Load Profile And Timeline
We come back with the generation strategy: what the site can support, what it would take to get there, and how it runs while the utility queue catches up.
